To receive CEUs for on-demand webinars, you must watch the webinar recording in full. Afterward, you’ll take a post-webinar test and must answer all questions correctly. If you pass, your AHIMA and AAPC CEU certificates will be delivered directly to the email you used to complete the test.

To receive CEUs for live webinars, simply attend the live session in its entirety. Your AHIMA and AAPC-approved CEUs will be sent to the email address you used to register and attend the webinar.

CEUs can be entered throughout your two-year recertification cycle. Just make sure to submit them before the end of your cycle to avoid any penalties or interruptions to your certification.

To submit your CEUs to AHIMA, follow these steps:
Step 1: Log into MyAHIMA
Visit theAHIMA website and sign in to your MyAHIMA account.
Step 2: Access the CEU Center
Click on the CEU Center tab.
Step 3: Add CEUs
Choose the source where the CEU was earned.
Complete all required fields, including:
Step 4: Submit Documentation (Optional)
Upload your CEU certificate or unofficial transcripts. While optional, it’s recommended to retain this documentation for future audits.
Step 5: Finalize and Submit
Enter only your required CEUs.
Note: Starting January 1, 2024, you may roll over 20% of additional CEUs earned during the last 3 months of your cycle into the next recertification cycle.

To submit your CEUs to AAPC, follow these steps:
Step 1: Access the CEU Tracker
Log into your account on the AAPC website.
Navigate to the CEU Tracker under “Continuing Education.”
Step 2: Enter CEUs
Click on “Add CEUs.”
Provide the following for each CEU activity:
Index Number (provided by AAPC)
Date of Completion
Number of CEUs
Sponsoring Organization
Title of Program Attended
Step 3: Upload Certificates (Optional)
Upload scanned or digital copies of your certificates. This step is optional but recommended for audit protection.
Step 4: Submit
Submit your CEUs before your biennial renewal date to ensure uninterrupted certification.
